According to Patrick, Lindsay had been suicidal for two months prior to the incident. He recounted a conversation where he asked her why she had looked up how long it would take him to pick up dinner, to which she replied that she was concerned about him getting stuck in traffic. This led to Patrick questioning her about googling ways to kill, to which Lindsay admitted that she had searched for ways to kill herself.

He has also taken positive steps towards healing, such as running the Boston Marathon in honor of his children and raising over $73,000 for the hospital where his youngest child was treated before her death.

However, the road to justice is still ongoing. Lindsay has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder, three counts of strangulation, and three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
