As an investor, imagine the scenario where Donald Trump re-enters the White House on January 20, 2025, and decides to invest in three prominent assets of that time. These assets include Bitcoin, Gold, and the TRUMP memecoin. Let’s take a look at how a $1,000 investment in each of these assets would fare as of August 4, 2026.

Bitcoin, the asset that Trump openly supported, opened inauguration day at around $102,000. A $1,000 investment would have bought approximately 0.0098 BTC. Fast forward to today, with Bitcoin trading near $62,000, that initial investment would now be worth about $607, reflecting a 40% loss. Despite Trump’s crypto-friendly policies, Bitcoin faced challenges due to global liquidity squeezes and other factors.

On the other hand, Gold, a traditional safe haven asset, was trading at about $2,697 per ounce on inauguration day. A $1,000 investment would have bought 0.371 ounces. With today’s gold price around $3,300, that investment would now be worth $1,224, showing a 22% gain. Gold benefited from uncertainties such as tariff wars and inflation during Trump’s presidency.

The TRUMP memecoin, a token bearing the president’s name, was trading at approximately $45.47 on inauguration day. A $1,000 investment would have bought around 22 coins. However, with today’s price at $1.47, those coins are now worth approximately $32, resulting in a staggering 97% loss. Despite Trump’s reported crypto income from TRUMP coin royalties, investors who bought in on inauguration day faced significant losses.

In summary, the $1,000 investments in Gold, Bitcoin, and TRUMP coin resulted in returns of $1,224, $607, and $32 respectively. Interestingly, the most crypto-friendly administration in history saw Gold emerge as the best-performing asset, highlighting the enduring value of traditional assets in uncertain times.
