UFC star Sean Strickland, a supporter of President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, has expressed disinterest in participating in a fighting event scheduled to be held at the White House next year. During a recent livestream with Adin Ross, Strickland mentioned a fighter who was hesitant about fighting “in front of billionaires.”
“I think I’d consider the White House event if there was some form of fan involvement,” he explained. “But just to mingle with the Epstein list? I’ll pass, man. I’m good, dude.”
The UFC is planning to host the event on the South Lawn on June 14, 2026, as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration. The event, initially hinted at by Trump over the summer, is set to coincide with Flag Day and the president’s 80th birthday.
Despite his past support for Trump, Strickland has recently criticized the president, particularly on foreign policy issues. In a post on X in February, Strickland expressed dissatisfaction with Trump’s proposal to take control of Gaza and relocate Palestinians for redevelopment purposes.
In another instance in July, Strickland stated that he would vote for a Democratic candidate over a Republican supported by AIPAC, calling it a “line in the sand” for him. He also urged Trump not to involve the U.S. in the Israel-Iran conflict in June.
In a recent post on X, Strickland seemingly endorsed Trump for an unconstitutional third term.
Overall, Strickland’s views on Trump and his policies have evolved over time, showcasing a complex relationship between the fighter and the president.
