A federal immigration raid at a San Diego restaurant has sparked controversy, highlighting the government’s efforts to enforce immigration policies under President Trump’s administration.
Video footage captured the chaotic scene as armed and masked agents conducted a workplace raid at the popular Italian restaurant, Buona Forchetta. The dramatic events unfolded with agents detaining several workers and using what appeared to be a flash-bang grenade to disperse onlookers.
According to a special agent from the Department of Homeland Security, the raid was part of a criminal search warrant operation. Witnesses reported that the entire restaurant crew was initially handcuffed as authorities checked for identification, leading to the detention of multiple workers.
