Washington:
President Donald Trump has appointed three Indian-Americans to important roles in his administration for his second term. Ricky Gill will serve as the Senior Director for South and Central Asia at the National Security Council (NSC). Saurabh Sharma will work in the Presidential Personnel Office focusing on staffing and appointments. Kush Desai has been appointed as the Deputy Press Secretary for the White House’s communication strategy.

Ricky Gill
Ricky Gill, an expert in international relations, is returning to the National Security Council (NSC) after previously serving as the Director for Russia and European Energy Security during Trump’s first term. Apart from his NSC role, he also worked as a Senior Advisor in the State Department’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations.
After leaving the administration, Mr. Gill led Gill Capital Group and advised on European and Asian energy for TC Energy. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
Saurabh Sharma
Born in Bengaluru, Saurabh Sharma was the President of American Moment, a conservative organization focused on personnel development. He graduated with a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and was invited to the White House during Trump’s first term for his work on free speech on college campuses.
Kush Desai
Kush Desai, an experienced communicator, has held key roles in Republican campaigns. He was the Deputy Communications Director for the 2024 Republican National Convention and served in various positions at the Republican National Committee. He played a crucial role in shaping the party’s messaging in battleground states.
