The case of a 10-year-old Indiana boy who was allegedly subjected to horrifying abuse by his own parents has shocked the community. Melody, 38, and Adam Greenwood, 36, have been accused of neglecting their son in the most disturbing ways possible.
According to reports, the young boy was zip-tied by his parents and forced to stand against a wall for hours on end. To make matters worse, he was made to wear a towel over his head so he couldn’t even watch TV like his siblings. The couple also allegedly “nutritionally” neglected him by feeding him only canned vegetables while the other children enjoyed fast food and sweets.
Both Melody and Adam Greenwood have been charged with multiple counts of neglect of a dependent. The authorities were alerted to the situation when the emaciated child was taken to the hospital for an examination. Medical professionals discovered scars on his wrists from the zip ties and immediately reported the abuse to the police.
Further investigation revealed that the boy had been singled out for abuse by his parents, who punished him by feeding him only canned goods and no snacks. He was also forced to stand in place for up to 12 hours at a time, with his siblings instructed to physically harm him if he dared to speak or move away from the wall.
The Indiana Department of Child Services is now involved in the case to ensure the safety and well-being of the other children in the household. Melody Greenwood faces three counts of neglect, while Adam Greenwood faces two counts. Both have been released on bail, but the shocking nature of the allegations has left the community reeling.
Efforts to reach the Greenwoods for comment have been unsuccessful. The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of protecting children from abuse and neglect, and the need for swift and decisive action in such situations.
