A scandal has rocked a high school in Indiana, where a married school secretary stands accused of having sexual relationships with two students. Alicia Hughes, a secretary at Randolph Eastern School Corporation, found herself in hot water when her husband caught her in a compromising position with an 18-year-old student. The situation escalated when her husband allegedly beat her up, leading to a police investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department.
Further scrutiny into Hughes’ actions revealed that she had also engaged in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student, with the pair reportedly having sex on multiple occasions. As a result, Hughes was arrested and charged with five counts of child seduction in connection to her relationship with the minor. It is unclear if she will face any charges related to the encounter with the 18-year-old student.
The identity of Hughes’ husband remains undisclosed, and it is uncertain whether he will face any charges for the alleged battery incident. Meanwhile, Superintendent Neal Adams has refrained from commenting on Hughes’ employment status, stating only that she has been removed from all duties involving students pending the outcome of the legal process.
Hughes is currently being held at Randolph County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond. Both the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and the Union City Police Department have yet to provide further details on the case. As the investigation unfolds, the school district is committed to following all legal and personnel procedures required by state law and board policy to ensure the integrity of the process and protect the privacy of students involved.
