Social media influencer Lizzie Kieffer posted a heartfelt video of her family just before her 12-month-old daughter’s, Lily, passing away.
The physical therapist took to Instagram on Monday, October 13, sharing a clip she had kept in her drafts since the previous Friday, showcasing her morning routine while she was 18 weeks pregnant with her third child, Isla, whom she welcomed last month.
Kieffer described the day depicted in the video as “such a normal day, everyone was happy and healthy.” She expressed her desire to relive that simple moment but also conveyed her joy that Isla has now become a part of her everyday life.
On April 26, Kieffer revealed through Instagram that Lily had passed away, sharing that she and her husband, Matt, had learned that their daughter had a “large mass on her brain.”
The recent Instagram video featured Kieffer exercising alone before her older children, Mia, born in June 2022, and Lily, joined her. It depicted Kieffer caring for Lily on a couch, lifting her for a close-up shot.
Continuing her caption, Kieffer expressed, “Days like this aren’t promised. They aren’t a given. I’m grateful for this life God has given me. I’m thankful for the gift of Lily, of Matt, Mia, Isla, and for my health.”
She further elaborated on her journey through grief, stating, “I want to go back to this day so much, moving through my day with Lily on my hip. I will always feel that way, yearning for her presence during every milestone, every event, every ordinary day.” Kieffer added that her faith helps her cope, expressing her need to choose gratitude amid her pain.

Kieffer also mentioned that Tuesday, October 14, would have marked Lily’s 18-month birthday, prompting her to reflect on this date.
“I didn’t plan to write anything today. But my heart feels open, overflowing with words, so I’m compelled to share,” Kieffer wrote. “I hope that sharing gives you a glimpse into our family’s experiences. Happy 18 months to my sweet Lily girl.”
Kieffer has commemorated her late child on various occasions, including a poignant moment in August when she held Mia close to her baby bump. “One baby earth side, one baby heaven side, one baby in between,” Kieffer expressed. “It’s a unique position I never imagined we would be in. While my third pregnancy feels familiar, it also brings a new, unprepared journey of pure joy mixed with profound grief.”
