Speculation about an alleged affair between Kristi Noem and Corey Lewandowski resurfaced following an April 2025 report by The Wall Street Journal. The report indicated that Lewandowski was prevented from becoming Noem’s chief of staff due to infidelity rumors, a decision reportedly made by Donald Trump and his aides.
Despite this, Noem managed to appoint Lewandowski as a special government employee.
The Daily Mail drew attention to the duo’s living situation, which fueled further speculation about their relationship.
A source remarked, “I’ve seen them together here both in the elevator and in common areas,” referring to Noem and Lewandowski, who resided across the street from each other at the time. “It is an open secret that they are together.”
Even after Noem relocated, Lewandowski reportedly continued to visit her frequently.
In subsequent months, a senior White House official informed CNN that Trump, who “likes” Noem, identified Lewandowski as “the problem.”
The source claimed, “The agency is being mismanaged because of it,” noting that Lewandowski instigated personnel firings and placed staff members on administrative leave.
Furthermore, Lewandowski gained a reputation as a micromanager.
“Mr. Lewandowski certainly has a reputation of reprimanding officials who impede or slow down the administration and undermine the will of the American people ā the American people voted for Donald J. Trump, not a bureaucrat,” commented another source.
Amid these challenges, a news outlet suggested that the President might be contemplating firing Noem due to her association with Lewandowski.
“Things are f—–,” remarked an official. “It’s horrible, they’re going to destroy this place. I’m just hoping the new secretary gets here in time.”
Responding to these claims, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told The Daily Beast that the president “has assembled the most talented and capable Cabinet in American history.”
She further dismissed the reports as “Fake News.”
