While the majority of Althorp estate is not open to the public, visitors can pay their respects at The Temple, a Grecian-style monument that was rededicated to Diana’s memory in 1998. Inside, they can read excerpts from Earl Spencer’s moving eulogy, delivered at her funeral at Westminster Abbey. The plaque nearby bears his words, emphasizing the media’s intrusion into her life and his vow to protect her sons.
