Joe Rogan has sparked controversy by comparing federal immigration raids to tactics used by Nazi secret police, in a move that has raised questions about his support for President Donald Trump. The 58-year-old made the comments on his popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, during a discussion with Republican Senator Rand Paul.

The conversation focused on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids and the tragic death of Renee Nicole Good, a volunteer legal observer who was shot and killed by ICE agents in Minneapolis. Rogan’s criticism of Trump’s immigration enforcement marked a significant departure from his previous support for the president.

During the podcast, Rogan questioned whether the United States was becoming like the Gestapo, referencing the infamous Nazi secret police force. He highlighted the moral and political complexities of the immigration debate, noting the concerns of both conservatives and progressives.

The fatal shooting of Good, who was monitoring ICE activity from her car, has raised serious questions about the use of force by immigration agents. The Trump administration has defended the agent’s actions as self-defense, but many argue that Good posed no imminent threat.

Rogan’s comments have drawn attention due to his influence and past support for Trump. While he did not explicitly withdraw his endorsement of the president, media outlets have interpreted his remarks as a sign of a possible break with Trump.

This is not the first time Rogan has criticized immigration enforcement. In a previous episode, he condemned the deportation of a gay stylist seeking asylum, calling it “crazy” and inhumane. Other right-leaning podcasters, such as Theo Von and Andrew Schulz, have also expressed unease with Trump’s immigration policies.

Overall, Rogan’s comments reflect a growing unease with the Trump administration’s approach to immigration enforcement. As a cultural influencer with a massive audience, his words carry weight and could influence public opinion on this contentious issue.
