For over 100 days, radical Antifa activists have laid siege to the ICE detention center in Portland, Oregon.

Each night, this encampment of eccentrics—some donning unicorn or chicken costumes—blare loud music, chant against the government through loudspeakers, and create unrest as they clash with law enforcement, causing disturbances across the neighborhood.

Ever since the protests commenced on June 2, local resident Cloud Elvengrail has struggled to find rest. Surrounded by the aggressive actions of Antifa members, she describes her surroundings as resembling a “war zone” and finds it “terrifying.”

In theory, she embodies the ideals that the protesters claim to champion: a disabled African-American woman residing in a low-income, subsidized housing complex adjacent to the ICE facility.

“If you are affluent and well-connected, the city feels safe for you. But if you're poor, Black, disabled, or a victim of domestic violence, the message from the city is unmistakable: ‘You are on your own,’” stated Elvengrail through a legal representative.

She appreciated President Trump’s intervention in the “war-torn” city, which has involved categorizing Antifa supporters as domestic terrorists and deploying 200 National Guard troops.

“The President has listened to our plea for assistance… I, along with many of my neighbors, am grateful for it,” Elvengrail stated.

News of federal troop deployments sent many in the group into panic, prompting them to rush to erase digital evidence as the troops approached the city.

Cloud Elvengrail reports sleepless nights thanks to the protestors and violent encounters, lamenting the city's neglect for individuals like her. “If you’re poor, Black, and disabled, ... ‘You’re on your own,’” she shared through her attorney. Katie Daviscourt/X

Sources captured social media posts from local activist Alissa Azar advising her peers to remove any posts related to Antifa and to “attorney up. This cannot be stressed enough… Arm yourselves while you still can. And prepare.”

Azar’s online accounts were temporarily suspended following these posts.

Defining Antifa is not straightforward. Although there is a recognized faction in Portland known as Rose City Antifa, the protesters primarily consist of various groups that function with an intentionally decentralized structure, according to sources. Many members lack any online footprint and use burner phones to avoid being tracked.

Currently, they occupy a single city block and are said to have established a “safe house” on Lowell Street.

For those doubting the reports, an individual familiar with the Antifa camp near the ICE facility remarked: “Most of them are heavily medicated. They tend to become incredibly violent. Nighttime is especially chaotic, becoming increasingly intense after dark.”

“They operate under the impression that they can act outside the law. The atmosphere at night resembles that of a third-world country,” an anonymous man stated during an interview with YouTube creator Nick Shirley, while masking his identity.

Local progressive politicians are opposed to the National Guard's presence in the area.

“We do not want any troops here,” stated Portland Mayor Keith Wilson. “The Oregon National Guard are our neighbors. They assist during wildfires, floods, or when overseas conflicts require their involvement. That’s not their role here.”

Local authorities ceased arresting demonstrators on June 19, managing only 25 detentions from a sizable number of protestors.

With support from attorney Julie Parrish, a former Oregon State Representative, Elvengrail has initiated legal action to compel the Portland Police Department to fulfill its duty.

“For months, residents have pleaded for police intervention to end the violence from what are claimed to be peaceful protestors,” Elvengrail commented. “Judge Rosenblum denied my request for a court order directing the Portland Police to fulfill their legal duties to safeguard the community.”

Following the deployment of the National Guard, arrests resumed.

After a conflict on September 27, 37-year-old Tomas Plancarte-Benson was charged with felony assault against a federal officer near the ICE site, as reported by the Justice Department.

On September 30, four individuals alleged to be undocumented immigrants were apprehended for aiming a laser pointer at a Customs and Border Protection helicopter present in Portland.

Diogenes Albores-Suchiapa, Andres Brian Lopez-Labra, Benito Zamora-Alvarez, and Hector Miranda Mendoza are all now in custody, according to the Department of Homeland Security, though charges were not immediately specified.

Another acknowledged local protester and former 2020 congressional candidate, Amanda Siebe—who sometimes participates in protests using a wheelchair—was observed being escorted away by guardsmen in videos, but it remains unclear if she was formally arrested.

Andy Ngo, an independent Portland journalist and author of “Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy,” nearly lost his life during an Antifa attack in 2019. He warns against underestimating this group.

“They may have an unassuming appearance. Many are overweight or frail. Some are teenagers. But they embody a militant and sociopathic mindset,” Ngo shared with The Post.

U.S. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer asserts it’s time for the disruption in Portland to end, as it has immensely affected local lives. Getty Images

“They drive families and small enterprises away from what once was a vibrant city. These lawbreakers have been supported by anti-law enforcement liberals in Portland and Salem, who have allowed chaos to thrive by undermining our dedicated police forces and depriving them of essential resources,” DeRemer stated.

“I’m thankful for President Trump’s assertive measures to reinstate law and order, establishing that Antifa and the cycle of anarchy will be no longer tolerated. The era of the far-left’s chaos in Portland comes to an end now.”
