Waymo Discloses Increase in Robotaxi Rides to 450,000 per Week

Six months ago, Waymo revealed that it was providing 250,000 robotaxi rides a week in various cities such as Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and the San Francisco Bay Area. However, a recent leaked letter from Tiger Global Management to its investors has shed more light on the actual numbers.

The letter, which was reported by CNBC, was aimed at attracting investment for Tiger Global’s new venture capital fund. It highlighted the success of its current fund, which has seen significant gains from investments in companies like OpenAI, Databricks, and Waymo. According to the letter, Waymo is now offering 450,000 robotaxi rides per week, almost double the number reported earlier this year.

As part of its expansion plans, Waymo is set to launch its services in 12 additional cities in 2026, including Dallas, Denver, Houston, Nashville, and San Diego. This aggressive rollout strategy is expected to further increase the number of weekly rides provided by the company.

Despite these developments, a Waymo spokesperson declined to provide any further comments on the matter.
