Ioannes Show at Berlin Fashion Week: A Glimpse into Sensuality and Quality
As Johannes Boehl Cronau took a bow at his Ioannes show in the Orangery of Charlottenburg Palace, his small gesture of kicking off his black leather slippers spoke volumes to the audience. Berlin Fashion Week has come to a close, and it did not disappoint. Despite the scorching temperatures and show delays, the event rivaled its big sisters and even Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
Boehl Cronau, known for his designs embraced by Hollywood and his collaboration with Kylie Jenner’s label, showcased his work in Berlin for the first time. His dresses, meticulously crafted and figure-hugging, were a highlight of the show. When asked about the role of sensuality in his work, the designer emphasized his inspiration from the women in his family, stating that body awareness and sexiness transcend clothing size. Each dress accentuated the waist, with halter tops adorned with floor-length fringes alternating with mini and maxi dresses.
Knitwear, trains, and sequins were also featured in the collection, paired with high leather boots. Accessories such as oversized gold jewelry and large aviator sunglasses, a collaboration with Berlin eyewear label Mykita, added to the image of the cool, international Ioannes woman.
Reflecting on the collection, Boehl Cronau shared, “This collection offers a glimpse into the past six years of my work, highlighting what I love and what may have been missing from my portfolio. I prioritize quality over quantity, aiming to provide my customers with the best possible products.”
