As hardware improvements in smartphones become less significant, the color choices for new devices, particularly iPhones, have taken on greater importance.
The iPhone 17 Pro exemplifies this trend with its Cosmic Orange variant, which has been widely imitated by numerous Android competitors and even inspired a surge in orange hues across other product categories, such as wearables.
Attention is now firmly on the forthcoming iPhone 18 series. Our sister site has provided an exclusive preview of the color options for the 2026 models. A leaker has revealed that the Pro versions will be available in only three colors.
This revelation comes despite prototype versions of the iPhone 18 Pro displaying all four previously anticipated colors. Instant Digital reports that the phone will be available in the following shades:
- Dark Cherry
- Light Blue
- Silver-Gray
Sonny Dickson
This indicates that the popular Dark Cherry remains, while the Dark Gray (nearly black) model has been excluded. Additionally, Silver has been updated to Silver Gray.
These colors were only in the developmental stage during the initial exclusive reveal, with no final decisions made. The iPhone 17 Pro was also released with three color options, so reducing the selection again this year seems logical.
The wait will soon be over, as the iPhone 18 launch event is expected in a few months. Reports have leaked 8 September as the potential date, which might also feature the debut of the iPhone Ultra, Apple’s first foldable phone.
