Transitioning from iPhone to Android could soon become a much simpler task, thanks to recent findings regarding Android 16.
Android Authority has delved into the code of Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1 and discovered intriguing references within the SIM Manager app.
The latest iteration of SIM Manager hints at compatibility with Apple’s upcoming OS update, iOS 19. This suggests that users may soon have the ability to seamlessly transfer an eSIM from an iPhone to a new Android device.

How eSIM transfer will work
It appears that iOS 19 will introduce a new Transfer to Android feature within the Settings menu. Currently, users can only transfer an eSIM to another iPhone, but with the upcoming iOS 19 release, crossing over to an Android device may become a viable option.
Speculation suggests that QR codes could be utilized for this transfer process, mirroring the current eSIM transfer method between Android devices.
While QR codes may serve as a secondary option, Apple’s own eSIM Quick Transfer functionality is expected to take precedence.
With WWDC 2025 scheduled for June 9, where iOS 19 is likely to be a focal point, the timing aligns well for the introduction of this cross-platform feature. On the other hand, Android 16 is anticipated to launch earlier than usual.
The transition between iPhone and Android is becoming increasingly streamlined. The inclusion of this new eSIM capability will further simplify the process for users.
