Following a military offensive led by the United States on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Iran retaliated by launching an attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar. The incident occurred on Monday, resulting in tensions escalating in the Middle East.
Authorities in Qatar condemned the Iranian attack, stating that their air defense systems successfully intercepted the rockets launched by Iran. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties among U.S. personnel at the base, as confirmed by the Pentagon.
Despite the lack of casualties, Iranian State TV portrayed the attack as a triumph, describing it as a “powerful and effective response by Iran’s armed forces to the aggression from the United States.”
President Trump addressed the nation on Saturday night, announcing the U.S. military’s deployment of a significant number of bombs on three key nuclear facilities in Iran. The President emphasized that the facilities were completely destroyed, with aerial images showing visible damage to structures above the Fordow facility.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, strongly criticized the U.S. strikes, denouncing them as a blatant violation of international norms. Araghchi warned of long-lasting repercussions as a result of the military actions taken by the United States against Iran’s nuclear installations.
In a statement on social media platform X, Araghchi accused the United States of breaching the UN Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) by attacking Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities. The situation remains tense as both countries navigate the aftermath of these hostilities.
