Police Scotland announced on Saturday that charges have been filed against an Iranian man and a Romanian woman following an alleged attempt to enter a nuclear missile base in Scotland this week.
Authorities reported that around 5 p.m. on Thursday, they were notified of two individuals attempting to access HM Naval Base Clyde.
According to Police Scotland, a 34-year-old Iranian man and a 31-year-old Romanian woman were arrested and charged in connection with the incident. They are scheduled to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday, March 23. Investigations are ongoing.

The Telegraph, referencing the Times, stated that the individuals were denied entry to the base due to incorrect passes and were subsequently arrested nearby for allegedly behaving suspiciously.
HM Naval Base Clyde, also known as Faslane, serves as the main base for the United Kingdom’s missile fleet.
The Royal Navy describes the base as the hub of the Submarine Service, housing the nation’s nuclear deterrent and the latest hunter-killer submarines.

According to the U.K. Parliament, the Royal Navy operates nine submarines, all based at HM Naval Base Clyde.

Among these are five Astute-class conventionally-armed nuclear-powered attack submarines and four Vanguard-class ballistic missile submarines (SSBN), which are part of the UK’s nuclear deterrent.
A spokesperson for the Royal Navy told Fox News Digital on Friday that two individuals were arrested by Police Scotland after failing to enter HM Naval Base Clyde on Thursday, March 19. The spokesperson declined to provide further details due to the ongoing investigation.
