In a group of highly-touted recruits signed by the Colorado men’s basketball program, Isaiah Johnson stood out as the least heralded a little over a year ago. Despite being the smallest physically, Johnson has quickly become a standout player for the team.
During the Acrisure Holiday Classic, Johnson showcased his skills on the court, leading the Buffs in points over two games. His impressive shooting numbers, including a .571 percentage from 3-point range, have caught the attention of many. What’s even more impressive is Johnson’s ability to finish plays through contact at the rim.
Johnson’s performance off the bench has been crucial for the team, with notable contributions in key moments of the games. His knack for drawing fouls and converting free throws has been a valuable asset for the Buffs.
With a deep and versatile bench, along with standout performances from players like Bangot Dak and Barrington Hargress, the Buffs are showing great potential for the season ahead. Head coach Tad Boyle is confident in the team’s offensive capabilities and believes that with continued improvement on defense, they can compete with any opponent.
Johnson remains focused on his development and credits his success to years of practice and repetition. His impact on the team has been significant, providing a spark off the bench and contributing to the overall balance of the squad.
