Hamas says it is focused on an agreement to end the war.

Gaza:

Palestinians reported that at least 22 people were killed in a school in southern Gaza City by an Israeli strike on Saturday. The Israeli military claimed that the attack targeted a Hamas command center.

The Gaza health ministry stated that the majority of the casualties were women and children. The Hamas-run government media office confirmed that 13 children and six women were among the deceased.

Israel defended its actions by stating that the strike hit a Hamas command center within the compound that had previously been used as a school. Hamas, however, denied these allegations.

Footage from the scene showed extensive damage, with destroyed furniture, damaged walls, and people trying to salvage their belongings.

Witnesses described a heartbreaking scene where women and children were playing in the school playground when the rockets struck, resulting in tragic consequences.

Amidst the chaos, some of the deceased were carried away on donkey carts, as ambulances worked tirelessly to tend to the injured.

The conflict in Gaza has also resulted in the loss of medics, with four health workers reportedly killed in Rafah by an Israeli strike on ministry warehouses.

Both sides remain entrenched in their positions, with Hamas seeking an end to the war and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, while Israel insists on the elimination of Hamas as a prerequisite for peace.

The ongoing violence has taken a heavy toll on both Israeli and Palestinian populations, with casualties mounting and infrastructure being devastated.

Efforts to broker a ceasefire deal have been hindered by contentious issues such as border control and the exchange of hostages and prisoners.

This latest escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict underscores the urgent need for a lasting resolution that addresses the root causes of the conflict and ensures the safety and security of all those involved.
