Giorgia Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister and a rising star among Europe’s conservative leaders, has recently made a notable exit from the grasp of the anti-Trump factions in the European Union. On April 17, she achieved the distinction of being the first European leader to engage directly with President Donald Trump since the controversial announcement of a 20% tariff on European exports, which was subsequently shelved.

Trump expressed a relaxed stance regarding trade negotiations, indicating that he was in no rush to finalize any agreements. He noted that while deals would inevitably come together “at a certain point,” he was quite pleased with the revenue generated by the tariffs for the U.S. Treasury.

BBC reported:
“Trump boasts he’ll have ‘very little problem making a deal with Europe’ because he has ‘something that everybody wants’.”
In this case, that “something” refers to access to the expansive American consumer market.

President Trump on Meloni:
“I do like her very much. She’s a great Prime Minister. I think she’s doing a fantastic job in Italy. We’re very proud of her. I knew her as a very early Prime Minister, and I knew she had great talent. She’s one of the real leaders of the world.” pic.twitter.com/jCnb8ayUV0
