Prime Video has recently unveiled an action-packed trailer for its upcoming spy series, “Citadel: Diana,” featuring Italian actress Matilda De Angelis in the lead role of Diana Cavalieri. Set in a near-future Milan, the six-episode show is Prime Video’s most ambitious Italian original to date and is part of the larger “Citadel” franchise that debuted in April 2023. The series aims to connect various shows set in different countries through overarching plotlines and characters.

Matilda De Angelis, known for her roles in “The Undoing” and “Across the River and Into the Trees,” portrays Diana Cavalieri, an undercover agent for Citadel in a world where the global spy agency was dismantled by the powerful Manticore syndicate. Trapped behind enemy lines as a mole within Manticore, Diana must navigate treacherous waters and team up with an unlikely ally, Edo Zani, the heir to Manticore Italy.

Joining De Angelis in the cast are Lorenzo Cervasio as Edo Zani, Maurizio Lombardi as Ettore Zani, Thekla Reuten, Julia Piaton, Filippo Nigro, and Bernhard Schütz. “Citadel: Diana” is scheduled for a global release on Prime Video on October 10 and is a collaboration between Rome-based Cattleya, Amazon MGM Studios, and AGBO, the production company founded by the Russo Brothers.

The show is helmed by director Arnaldo Catinari and developed by head writer Alessandro Fabbri, alongside a team of talented writers including Ilaria Bernardini, Gianluca Bernardini, Laura Colella, and Giordana Mari. Gina Gardini, known for her work on “Gomorrah” and “ZeroZeroZero,” serves as the showrunner for “Citadel: Diana.”

Fans of espionage thrillers can look forward to the high-stakes drama and intricate plot twists that “Citadel: Diana” promises to deliver. With a stellar cast, a gripping storyline, and a visually stunning portrayal of a futuristic Milan, this series is poised to captivate audiences worldwide. Be sure to mark your calendars for October 10 and immerse yourself in the world of “Citadel: Diana” on Prime Video.
