Giorgia Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister and a figurehead of conservative politics, is known not just for her vocal opinions but also for her animated facial expressions, which often speak volumes.
On June 16, she captured the public’s attention and went viral on social media platforms with her signature eye-roll in response to a whispered remark from French President Emmanuel Macron during a G7 meeting in Canada.
While the exact content of Macron’s comment remains a mystery, Meloni’s reaction left little doubt about her feelings towards it.

According to a report from the New York Post,
“Meloni was caught scoffing as French President Emmanuel Macron whispered something into her ear at a roundtable meeting alongside other world leaders in Alberta, Canada, on Monday.
A clip of the moment shows Meloni leaning in as Macron shields his mouth and mutters away.
Moments later, she was caught on camera dramatically rolling her eyes in reply before jerking away.”
