The King of the Ring tournament is set to kick off tonight on RAW, with the finals taking place at WWE Night of Champions on June 28. The winner of the tournament will earn a title shot at SummerSlam in August, making it a highly anticipated event for WWE fans.

RAW General Manager Adam Pearce announced that the tournament will start with a Fatal 4-Way match between Bron Breakker, Dominik Mysterio, Sami Zayn, and Penta. However, one WWE star took it upon himself to pitch for a spot in the tournament ahead of tonight’s episode.

Ivar of The War Raiders, who recently lost the World Tag Team Championships to The New Day at WrestleMania 41, expressed his interest in participating in the King of the Ring tournament. In a social media post, Ivar humorously mentioned that he already had a crown and pleaded for a shot to qualify for the tournament.

The possibility of Ivar entering the tournament as a singles competitor raises questions about his future in WWE. Last year, Ivar had a brief stint as a singles star while his tag team partner, Erik, was recovering from a neck injury. It will be intriguing to see if the 41-year-old grappler gets a chance to showcase his skills in the King of the Ring tournament.

In a recent interview, Ivar also revealed that he would have been interested in aligning with former WWE star Paul Ellering as the manager of The War Raiders. However, Ellering was already managing The Authors of Pain when The War Raiders joined WWE, preventing the potential alliance from happening. Despite the missed opportunity, Ivar expressed his admiration for Ellering and his managerial skills.

As fans eagerly await the King of the Ring tournament to unfold on RAW, the addition of Ivar to the mix adds an exciting element to the competition. With his unique blend of power and agility, Ivar could prove to be a formidable contender in the quest for the crown.

Stay tuned to WWE programming to see if Ivar’s wish to participate in the King of the Ring tournament comes true and if he can make a statement as a singles competitor in the weeks ahead. The road to WWE Night of Champions promises to be filled with thrilling matchups and surprising developments, and Ivar’s involvement could be a key storyline to watch out for.
