Marco Rubio Praised by Vice President JD Vance for Mentorship and Friendship
The Vice President, JD Vance, recently lauded Senator Marco Rubio, 54, as one of his closest friends and colleagues during their time in the Trump administration. Vance expressed his gratitude for Rubio’s mentorship and support after Vance was elected to the Senate in 2022.
Vance emphasized the strong bond he shares with Rubio, stating, “When I say that Marco is my best friend, that’s no insult to anybody else in the administration because, you know, when I came into the Senate [in 2023], Marco was a bit of a mentor to me.” He continued, “He [was] one of the younger guys in the Senate. He’s got, you know, by the standards of Washington, he still has a young family. He’s got kids who are in law school and college, and so, there’s just a lot of commonality that we have.”
Highlighting their shared values and beliefs, Vance mentioned, “We’re both people of very strong faith, and our wives get along well. It’s just — he’s a good guy and I like coming to work with him and I like talking to him about the things that confront the administration, confront the president.”
The camaraderie and mutual respect between Vance and Rubio underscore the importance of mentorship and friendship in the political realm. Their collaborative efforts and support for each other serve as a testament to the power of positive relationships in driving meaningful change and progress.
