SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers for all eight episodes of “All Her Fault,” now streaming on Peacock.

In the gripping finale of Peacock’s limited series “All Her Fault,” the truth about Peter Irvine finally comes to light. Throughout the eight episodes, the series delves into the complexities of the Irvine family, unraveling a web of deceit and betrayal that ultimately leads to Peter’s demise.

The series, based on the novel by Andrea Mara and created by Megan Gallagher, challenges the notion that women are always to blame for the failings of their families. Marissa and Jenny, played by Sarah Snook and Dakota Fanning respectively, are thrust into a nightmare when Marissa’s son Milo is kidnapped by their nanny Carrie, played by Sophia Lillis. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that Peter, portrayed by Jake Lacy, is the true mastermind behind the chaos that ensues.

As the layers of deception are peeled back, it is revealed that Peter orchestrated the kidnapping as a result of a tragic car accident years earlier. In a moment of desperation, he switched his dead son with Carrie’s healthy child, setting off a chain of events that culminate in Carrie’s vengeful plot to reunite with her son. But Peter’s manipulation doesn’t stop there; he also harbors dark secrets about his siblings, Brian and Lia, further complicating the family dynamics.

In a shocking turn of events, Marissa is forced to confront the truth about her husband and make a harrowing decision to protect herself and her son. In a tense confrontation, she takes matters into her own hands and ensures that Peter can no longer harm those around him. The series ends with Peter meeting his fate, a fitting conclusion to a man consumed by his own need for control and power.

The character of Peter is a fascinating study in narcissism and manipulation, portrayed brilliantly by Lacy. His downfall is a culmination of his refusal to accept responsibility for his actions and his relentless pursuit of love and validation. In the end, it is Marissa who must make the difficult choice to end the cycle of abuse and deception that Peter has perpetuated.

The series explores themes of guilt, redemption, and the consequences of unchecked power. Through its intricate storytelling and compelling performances, “All Her Fault” delivers a thrilling and thought-provoking narrative that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
