Amazon Prime Video has announced the main voice cast for its forthcoming animated comedy series titled “Kevin.”
The series, which was first revealed in May 2024, will feature a talented ensemble including Jason Schwartzman (“Isle of Dogs,” “The French Dispatch”), Aubrey Plaza (“The White Lotus,” “Emily the Criminal”), Whoopi Goldberg (“The Lion King,” “Sister Act”), John Waters (“Hairspray,” “Liar Mouth”), Aparna Nancherla (“The Great North,” “Bob’s Burgers”), Gil Ozeri (“Big Mouth,” “Monsters”), and Amy Sedaris (“BoJack Horseman,” “At Home with Amy Sedaris”).

Plaza is also involved as the co-creator of “Kevin,” working alongside Joe Wengert. The show’s official synopsis reveals that it is “inspired by a real-life breakup and the cat caught in the crossfire. ‘Kevin’ spins a funny and heartfelt tale about discovering where you fit in life. Following the sudden separation of his human ‘owners,’ Kevin (voiced by Schwartzman) finds himself at a local pet rescue in Astoria, Queens, where a quirky group of mismatched animals helps him determine his true desires.”
Both Plaza and Wengert are executive producers for the series, with Wengert taking on the role of showrunner. Other executive producers include Dan Murphy, Chris Prynoski, Ben Kalina, Shannon Prynoski, and Antonio Canobbio. The production is handled by Titmouse, Plaza and Murphy’s Evil Hag Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios.

– Kevin (Jason Schwartzman): A lovable and anxious tuxedo cat who whimsically abandons his comfortable life in a fourth-floor apartment for the thrill and chaos of being “single” in the city.
– Dana (Aubrey Plaza): A self-assured and ambitious young woman who makes the tough decision to part ways with her boyfriend but is taken aback by Kevin’s choice to branch out on his own.
– Judy (Aparna Nancherla): An endearing yet frail Scottish Fold kitten who greets Kevin at the pet rescue with optimism and an unwavering faith that the ideal human is just around the corner.
– Armando (John Waters): A stunningly beautiful, sardonic Persian cat who has turned his back on humans in favor of the unencumbered life of independence.
– Cupcake (Whoopi Goldberg): An erratically entertaining hairless cat, Cupcake revels in her feral nature – she’s living at the pet rescue merely to seize opportunities to deceive both humans and animals.
– Seth (Gil Ozeri): The caring and gentle man who runs “Furrever Friends” pet rescue. He dotes on his furry residents to the point of conceding to them at every turn… continuously.
– Brandi (Amy Sedaris): Seth’s spunky, commanding Shih Tzu. Although she’s a dog, Brandi clearly rules the rescue with an iron paw.
