Moments after the wedding, Couric referred to Sánchez’s Dolce & Gabbana gown as “tacky,” reigniting a debate on fashion and luxury.
In an Instagram comment under a post shared by John F. Kennedy’s grandson, Jack Schlossberg, Couric wrote, “Welcome to the eighties, when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled. Apparently tacky is back.” The 68-year-old author of Going There did not hold back in expressing her opinion on the fashion statement made by the bride.
While the exact reason for Couric’s critique remains unknown, speculation arose that the former Today host might have felt left out of the exclusive guest list for the high-profile event. One social media user even quipped, “I’m guessing you aren’t invited, Katie,” hinting at a possible underlying motive for Couric’s comments.
