Jeffrey Epstein’s Struggle with Low Testosterone
In a revealing email from August 15, 2013, Jeffrey Epstein disclosed his battle with low testosterone and the toll it took on his health. The disgraced financier recounted a harrowing incident where his close confidante and ex-girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, had to come to his aid after he nearly fainted. Epstein shared with an unnamed recipient, “I almost fainted today. I needed oxygen. Ghislaine came to help. I didn’t want to worry you or involve you, as my testosterone levels can’t handle the stress.”
Fast forward to April 2015, Epstein expressed his reservations about starting hormone therapy to address his deficiency. In an email to a doctor, he admitted, “As you can see from the time stamp my sleep pattern is not wonderful. I am hesitant to start a regimen of hormones. My low testosterone has been there for 15 years. The mechanic view is that it has caught up to me?”
Despite his initial hesitance, Epstein eventually opted for medication. In a 2016 correspondence, he revealed that a doctor had recommended a drug similar to Clomid, commonly used to treat low testosterone in men. However, Epstein quickly regretted his decision, stating that he had stopped taking the medication due to adverse effects. He candidly confessed, “Stopped the Clomid, the water retention and fat around the waist made it as if I was pregnant.”
