Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, best known for their roles in “The Office,” recently made a visit to the set of the new spinoff series being created by series showrunner Greg Daniels. While they may not be starring in the new show, titled “The Paper,” the duo got to catch up with their former co-star Oscar Nuñez, who will be reprising his role as Oscar Martinez in the upcoming series. The new show follows the staffers at a struggling Midwestern newspaper as they try to revive the publication with the help of volunteer reporters.
During their visit to the set, Kinsey and Fischer were joined by their former co-stars Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Creed Bratton, Kate Flannery, and Ellie Kemper. Nuñez teased that more details about the show will be revealed soon as the production is still in the editing phase. The new series will retain the mockumentary style of “The Office,” with the same documentary crew now filming in a new location.
In addition to the original cast, the new show will feature Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key. Fans can expect the same comedic style and awkward humor that made “The Office” a beloved series.
Kinsey and Fischer have been hosting the popular “Office Ladies” podcast for over five years, where they recap all nine seasons of the original NBC sitcom. Their podcast has garnered a dedicated following of fans who enjoy hearing behind-the-scenes stories and insights from the show.
As the new spinoff series continues to develop, fans of “The Office” can look forward to seeing some familiar faces and experiencing the same comedic brilliance that made the original series a classic. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements about the highly anticipated show.
