Jennifer Beals, Roshan Sethi to Receive Yale in Hollywood Fest Honors

Yale in Hollywood has announced that Jennifer Beals and Roshan Sethi will be honored at its upcoming sixth annual virtual film festival, scheduled to take place from December 4-6. Beals will be receiving the prestigious 2025 Career Achievement Award, while Sethi will be presented with the Queer Voice Award. Both honorees will accept their awards during the Yale in Hollywood Fest 2025 Awards Livestream on December 6.

The Career Achievement Award, previously given to actor C.S. Lee and television creator Justin Noble, recognizes Beals’ outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry. Beals, known for her role in “The L Word: Generation Q,” has garnered critical acclaim and accolades for her portrayal of Bette Porter. She has also been recognized for her advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community, receiving awards such as the GLAAD Golden Gate Award and the Human Rights Campaign’s Ally for Equality Award.

Sethi, a multitalented writer, director, and practicing oncologist, is being honored with the Queer Voice Award for his impactful work in the industry. His credits include co-creating the Fox medical drama “The Resident” and directing award-winning films such as “7 Days” and “A Nice Indian Boy.”

The festival will feature a lineup of short films and livestream events, all accessible for free worldwide on yihfest.com from December 4 to December 7. VEEEU will be awarding two $500 prizes to competition winners selected by the festival jury, while Story-boards.ai will sponsor three one-year subscription awards for competition winners.

Yale in Hollywood Fest highlights films that involve Yale students, alumni, or current staff members in key creative roles. Founded by Kevin Winston, the organization is dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the talent within the Yale community. Past honorees of the festival include Oscar nominee Lee Isaac Chung, Robinne Lee, Justin Noble, Cory Finley, Kahlil Green, and C.S. Lee.
