In Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film Vertigo from 1958, Kim Novak’s captivating emerald green dress serves as a powerful emblem of illusion and intrigue. Similarly, Grace Kelly’s ethereal icy blue chiffon gown in the 1995 movie To Catch A Thief portrayed an enchanting mystery. Both iconic outfits, crafted by designer Edith Head, epitomized the essence of the Hitchcockian femme fatale and served as a wellspring of inspiration for the women featured in Jenny Packham’s spring 2026 collection.
“When I gathered all the leading ladies from Hitchcock’s films, I was struck by the stunning color palette,” remarked Packham, who was fascinated by cinema’s shift from monochrome to vibrant technicolor, which profoundly influenced women’s fashion. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and eclectic influences, Packham has drawn inspiration from notable figures like the groundbreaking Chinese American actress Anna May Wong and the high-society women gracing Truman Capote’s renowned Black and White Ball. The rich color spectrum reflective of Hitchcock’s cinematic universe is vividly expressed in Packham’s collection, showcasing hues such as sterling silver, amber, mint green, candy pink, and what she referred to as “Grace blue.”
No Jenny Packham collection is complete without an abundance of sequins, crystals, and beads. This season featured a sleek silver bias-cut gown and a dazzling gold kaftan—designed with the more conservative tastes of her growing Middle Eastern clientele in mind—as well as a stunning, hand-embroidered silver and gold ombré cape dress that transitioned into an onyx black skirt, reminiscent of an iconic Hollywood opening title sequence. While Packham’s hallmark structured crepe garments and strong silhouettes remain popular, this collection also ventured into new territory with satin and chiffon, along with a whimsical bright pink, cloud-like taffeta gown. The line presented fresh interpretations and what Packham termed “remixes” of her best-loved pieces, revitalized with new color palettes.
This year promises even more excitement: exclusive capsule collections with Net-A-Porter and MyTheresa, a pre-Christmas lineup, and a special Ramadan collection. As awards season approaches, Packham is set to cater to a plethora of VIP clients, recently including a diverse array of celebrities such as Jennifer Hudson, Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, and Emily Blunt, each finding their own unique entrance to Packham’s world of glamour. The designer is ambitiously expanding her footprint in the U.S., developing a bridal party collection and a cocktail line, with a focus on direct-to-consumer sales. “Our goal is to be wherever women have a passion for dressing beautifully,” Packham expressed.
