Jessica Simpson’s daughter, Birdie Mae, who is 6 years old, perfectly emulated her mother when she opted to dress as the pop star during her school’s spirit week.
“Today is dress like your favorite artist for spirit week at school, and Bird chose to dress as meeeeee,” the singer, 45, posted on Instagram on October 9, sharing some adorable photos.
To celebrate the occasion, Birdie channeled her inner superstar in a black graphic T-shirt featuring the artwork of her mother’s debut album, Sweet Kisses, which was a chart-topping hit in 1999.
She styled her look with cut-off shorts and shiny silver cowboy boots, reflecting the Dukes of Hazzard star’s unique blend of country and glam. Birdie added further flair with a sparkling necklace, earrings, and rings as she struck a pose next to the microphone in their home studio.

“She looks so adorable! I love her outfit,” commented one fan. Another remarked, “A gorgeous little girl just like her mom! ❤️” A third chimed in, “Pop princess genes on full display! 🧬 💞💫 so cuteee.”
Birdie is the youngest of three children that Simpson has with estranged husband Eric Johnson. Simpson is also the mother to 12-year-old daughter, Maxwell “Maxi” Drew, and 11-year-old son, Ace Knute.
Recently, Simpson made an appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show, where she expressed pride in her children’s musical talents, noting that they all have a creative flair.
“My youngest can really belt it out. She possesses amazing vocal power; I don’t know how she does it but she can hit those high notes,” Simpson said about Birdie on the October 2 episode. “Maxwell, my oldest, has perfect pitch. My son has perfect pitch too. It’s incredible to hear them sing along; I often feel like I can’t keep up with them musically.”
“Being a mother is a joy for me,” she reflected. “I learn so much from them every day.”

Simpson noted that her children are always there to support her. “They are very proud of me. Since I started pursuing my dreams in Nashville, they recognized the joy it brings me and the peace it brings into our lives,” she stated.
Simpson and Johnson, 46, were together for a decade before they announced their separation on January 13.
“Eric and I have been living separately, trying to navigate a difficult time in our marriage,” Simpson said in a statement at the time. “Our children are our priority, and we are focused on what’s best for them. We are thankful for all the support we are receiving and kindly ask for privacy while we work through this as a family.”
In November of last year, Johnson was seen without his wedding ring, while Simpson appeared to be embracing a fresh chapter, hinting at a musical “comeback” with a mysterious Instagram update.
“Interviews in my Nashville music room where I discovered my unique magic,” she wrote. “This comeback is deeply personal. It’s an apology to myself for all I endured that I didn’t deserve.”
