In a recent episode of the Sarah Silverman Podcast, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel leveled a pointed critique at what he termed “repulsive” liberal activists, whom he believes are contributing to President Donald Trump’s resurgence in American politics.
Kimmel, who delivered this assessment without a hint of irony, argued that the “loud voices” within the Democratic Party have created an atmosphere that drives potential supporters away. “It’s not the party. It’s not the majority,” he claimed. “It’s the loud voices that scare people from saying what they believe and make you think twice about a joke or whatever.”
He elaborated, acknowledging that while many liberal viewpoints are valid, some are simply off-putting. “They go like, ‘Oh, you’re no fun. I don’t want to be around you.’ And if you had to boil it down to one thing, that’s kind of what it is,” he remarked.

This isn’t Kimmel’s first rodeo in criticizing his fellow left-leaning activists. Earlier this year, he suggested that humorless liberals are undermining the Democratic Party’s chances. “I think a lot of the outrage is completely manufactured, and a lot of these people who are angry aren’t really angry,” he stated in April, further asserting that their behavior is a significant factor in Trump’s political success.
So Close, Yet So Far: Jimmy Kimmel Actually Nails 1 Reason Trump’s Winning
In the wake of Trump’s electoral victory last year, Kimmel became visibly emotional, lamenting the fate of “hard-working immigrants” who could face deportation under the new administration. Recently, he also expressed frustration on social media regarding the dismissal of fellow comedian Stephen Colbert from CBS, posting, “Love you, Stephen. Fuck you and all your Sheldons CBS.”
In a fitting twist, President Trump took note of Kimmel’s remarks, asserting that he might be next in line for a pink slip. “I absolutely love that Colbert got fired,” Trump quipped. “His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert!”
