Joe Biden made history as the first American president to visit the Amazon rainforest. During his visit, Biden emphasized the importance of fighting climate change and protecting the world’s forests. He stated, “The most powerful solutions to fight climate change is all around us – the world’s forests.” Biden also highlighted the need for both domestic and international action to address the climate crisis, stating that “The fight against climate change has been a defining cause of my presidency.”

Despite his efforts, Biden acknowledged that his time in office is coming to an end, leaving a strong foundation for his successor to build upon. However, he expressed concern about the incoming administration’s stance on climate change. President Biden warned that the policies of the next administration, led by Donald Trump, could undo the progress made during his tenure.

Trump’s energy policy, which heavily favors fossil fuels, poses a significant threat to environmental conservation efforts. The appointment of a fracking executive as Energy Secretary and plans to roll back climate change initiatives signal a regressive approach to energy policy in the United States.

While Biden’s achievements may not have been fully appreciated by all Democratic voters, his impact on climate change and environmental protection will become evident in the years to come. As Biden prepares to leave office, it is crucial for the American public to recognize and support the progress made in addressing climate change during his presidency.
