Biden’s Longtime Aides Allegedly Shielded Him from Cabinet Secretaries, Revealing Concerns about President’s Decline
Amidst growing concerns about President Joe Biden’s mental acuity, a new book by Alex Tapper and Alex Thompson sheds light on how his longtime aides reportedly shielded him from interactions with his Cabinet secretaries in 2023 and 2024.
According to the authors, multiple Cabinet members expressed observations that raised doubts about Biden’s cognitive abilities. They noted instances where the President would mumble and appear to be struggling to articulate coherent thoughts.
One Cabinet secretary, quoted in the book, remarked, “I don’t think he has dementia, but the thing is, he’s an old man. The president can give you four to six good hours a day. When he got tired, sloppy isn’t the right word, but his guard was down.”
Another Cabinet secretary highlighted the difficulty of being candid with the President, stating, “It’s hard for an adviser to be honest with the principal. If he had asked me, I would have told him, ‘Do one term and you’re done to preserve your legacy.'” This sentiment underscores concerns about Biden’s ability to handle the demands of the presidency.
Additionally, a third secretary recalled a specific incident where Biden appeared “disoriented” and “out of it” during a meeting, raising further questions about his mental clarity. The insider revealed that Biden’s inner circle seemed more focused on keeping him content and shielded from negative information, rather than addressing potential issues.
Addressing the alleged mishandling of the situation, a Cabinet member criticized Biden’s staff, stating, “The staff did him wrong. If you were with him every day and you knew this was a problem, why didn’t you go to him and say something?” This sentiment reflects broader concerns about the transparency and communication within the President’s inner circle.
