Joey Chestnut emerged victorious once again in the highly anticipated hot dog-eating contest against Takeru Kobayashi, this time on Netflix’s stage in Las Vegas, Nevada. The competition, dubbed “Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef,” took place on Labor Day at the Hyper X Arena at the Luxor.

In a thrilling 10-minute showdown, Chestnut devoured an impressive 83 hot dogs and buns, surpassing his own world record of 76 set in 2021. On the other hand, Kobayashi managed to consume 66 hot dogs, falling short of Chestnut’s remarkable feat.

The event was hosted by actor Rob Riggle and former WWE star Nikki Garcia, and was live-streamed on Netflix for fans to witness the epic battle between the two renowned competitive eaters. The rules of the competition prohibited dunking or pouring water on the hot dogs and buns, as well as separating them. Additionally, contestants had 30 seconds to finish whatever was left in their mouths after the time limit expired.

As the dust settled, Chestnut claimed the $100,000 grand prize and was awarded a custom championship belt made by WWE, presented to him by professional wrestler Rey Mysterio. This victory adds to Chestnut’s impressive resume as a 16-time champion of the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island.

Chestnut and Kobayashi’s rivalry dates back to 2007 when Chestnut first defeated Kobayashi. Despite announcing his retirement, Kobayashi made a comeback specifically to compete against Chestnut in this special Netflix event. The two competitors have had a fierce rivalry since the mid-2000s, with Chestnut consistently coming out on top.
