John Leguizamo Slams Dean Cain for Joining ICE
Actor John Leguizamo didn’t hold back his criticism of Dean Cain after the latter announced his decision to join US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in order to “help save America.”
Dean Cain, known for his role as Clark Kent in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” shared his support for President Trump’s mass deportation efforts in a recruitment-style video on social media.
Reacting to Cain’s announcement, Leguizamo, a vocal Trump critic, took to social media to express his disapproval. He called Cain a “moron” for volunteering to be an ICE officer and even joked about Cain’s career with a fake DVD case titled “AGED ICE.”
In his video, Cain emphasized his role as a sworn law enforcement officer and filmmaker, highlighting ICE’s efforts in arresting criminals and ensuring public safety. He also mentioned the agency’s benefits and the recent $50,000 signing bonus announced by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Despite some criticism regarding Cain’s age exceeding the federal agency’s recruitment limit, Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin confirmed that the age limit had been waived to accommodate new applicants like Cain.
Cain is expected to be sworn in as an honorary ICE Officer in the coming month, as ICE aims to recruit 10,000 new officers and agents following the passage of Trump’s funding bill.
Leguizamo’s strong reaction to Cain’s decision reflects the ongoing debate surrounding immigration enforcement and the role of actors in supporting government initiatives.
