Netflix’s upcoming limited series adaptation of Julia May Jonas’ novel “Vladimir” has just announced its main cast, adding nine new members to join previously announced leads Rachel Weisz and Leo Woodall. According to Variety, John Slattery, known for his work in “Mad Men” and “Spotlight,” Jessica Henwick from “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” and Ellen Robertson, who has appeared in “Black Mirror,” have been cast as series regulars in the roles of John, Cynthia, and Sid, respectively.
The new recurring cast members include Kayli Carter, Miriam Silverman, Mallori Johnson, Matt Walsh, Tattiawna Jones, and Louise Lambert. Additionally, the Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning team of Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini will direct three of the show’s eight episodes, including the pilot, and serve as executive producers.
The official logline for “Vladimir” reads, “As a woman’s life unravels, she becomes obsessed with her captivating new colleague. Full of sexy secrets, dark humor, and complex characters, ‘Vladimir’ explores what happens when a woman is determined to turn her fantasies into reality.”
Julia May Jonas is adapting her book for the screen and also serves as an executive producer on the series. Weisz will also executive produce in addition to starring. Other executive producers include Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg, Kira Carstensen, Jason Winer, Jon Radler, Springer Berman, and Pulcini. The series is produced by 20th Television.
