Jon Bon Jovi has embraced a new title that comes with a bit of nostalgia and a hefty dose of pride: grandfather. His joy stems from the arrival of a baby girl belonging to Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi.
In a conversation with influencer Bunnie XO, Bon Jovi described his grandfather journey as “crazy, but great,” acknowledging the immediate bond formed upon meeting the little one. “Once you see the baby, it instantly becomes your grandchild,” he shared, showcasing that blend of excitement and pride that many new grandparents recognize. He humorously admitted, “I’m already that bothersome grandpa who wants pictures every other day – it’s beautifully cool,” perfectly encapsulating the delight of new grandparents.
Moving beyond mere celebration, Bon Jovi took a moment to praise his new daughter-in-law for her determination and maturity, a trait he appreciates in their union. “They wed quite young, but we’re fully supportive. It seems they are quite wise for their age,” he commented. At 63, the Bon Jovi frontman shares Bongiovi, 23, with his wife, Dorothea Hurley. Their long-standing marriage, which began in April 1989, has yielded three other children—daughter Stephanie, 32, and sons Jesse, 30, and Romeo, 21.
In an Instagram announcement on August 21, Bongiovi and Brown revealed their joy at becoming first-time parents much earlier than anticipated, having adopted a baby girl earlier this year.
In a heartfelt joint declaration on social media, Brown and Bongiovi shared, “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were three.”
This announcement came over a year after the couple tied the knot in May 2024, and since then, Brown has openly discussed her aspirations of motherhood. “My mom had her first child at 21, and my dad was just 19,” she noted during an appearance on the “Smartless” podcast. “It’s always been my dream to be a mom, just like my mom was to me,” she stated, enthusing about family life.
Further reflecting on her and Bongiovi’s aspirations of a large family, Brown shared, “I’m one of four, and he’s one of four. It’s definitely in our future, but for me, I see no distinction between having your own child and adopting.” Her openness about personal desires adds depth to public discourse regarding family dynamics and poverty, suggesting that love and nurturing can manifest in many forms and pathways.
