All Jordan Spence Wants is a Fresh Breakfast Sandwich with a Runny Yolk
“The kind that you squeeze it and it goes everywhere,” said Jordan Spence, a Florida native who is bringing his love for breakfast sandwiches to Denver with the opening of Jordan’s Deli. Located at 1035 Lincoln St., this sandwich shop is set to open within a month, offering a unique all-day dining experience in the space previously occupied by Melita’s Greek Cafe & Market.
Spence, who moved to Denver in 2021, recognized a need for a good breakfast sandwich on the go in the city. Jordan’s Deli will serve early morning egg and cheese sandwiches with a choice of sausage, bacon, or ham. For lunch and dinner, Spence will offer New York-style subs made with Boar’s Head deli meats, including a chicken cutlet parm and a Rocky Mountain melt featuring beer-battered chicken atop fries.
The menu will also feature his mom’s homemade meatballs, adding to the family vibe he aims to create at the deli. Spence’s brother, best friend, and parents from New York City will also be part of the team.
With over 15 years of experience in the food industry, including working at Raglan Road Irish Pub in Disney World and STK Steakhouse in LoDo, Spence’s dream of opening a deli is finally coming to fruition. The deli will also have a bar serving beer, wine, and soft-serve ice cream.
Initially, Jordan’s Deli will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., with plans to extend hours until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays to cater to the late-night crowd. Spence signed a five-year lease for the space in September and invested $75,000 in the build-out, with the hope of opening by the end of November.
“Old school, simple, fresh. Denver has a lot of bougie, fancy places. We need a good neighborhood regular place,” Spence said of his vision for Jordan’s Deli.
