Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have successfully avoided a challenging custody court battle over their daughter, Juno, by calling off their trial just a day before it was scheduled to begin.
According to TMZ, Jodie’s legal team submitted documents on October 14 to withdraw the trial from the court schedule prior to its commencement on October 15.
The attorney representing the “Queen & Slim” star noted that both parties are working together to negotiate their own custody agreement.
The lawyer stated, “The parties will return to the privately compensated temporary judge to resolve any impasses in the proposed custody judgment.”
It seems they have reached a workable compromise, although they are still divorcing. Their separation appears to be finalized, and this was the last outstanding issue.
Previously, we reported that Joshua and Jodie had utilized a mediator in May to establish a temporary custody arrangement for their 5-year-old daughter. The primary disagreement remained over Juno’s schooling.
In terms of financial arrangements, Joshua is set to contribute $2,787 in monthly child support, while they decided on a one-time payment for spousal support.
We previously reported that Jodie initiated divorce proceedings from Joshua in October 2023, citing irreconcilable differences.
The couple first connected at his birthday celebration in 2018, rapidly progressing to engagement followed by obtaining a wedding license at the Beverly Hills courthouseâlong before their relationship was public knowledge.
