In an interview with The Times, she expressed regret over dating the rap star, claiming that she wanted to keep their relationship low-key but it went public without her consent.
Fox revealed that she felt like she was being used as a pawn during their brief romance. She confirmed that Kanye was the “artist” she wrote about in her memoir, “Down the Drain,” detailing how he controlled aspects of her life, such as picking out her outfits, offering to pay for a cosmetic procedure, and asking her to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
The actress emphasized that the relationship put her in an uncomfortable position, stating, “I don’t want to be known for being anyone’s girlfriend.” Despite their short-lived romance, Kanye and Julia dated for a few weeks in late 2021/early 2022 before calling it quits.
Their time together included a trip to Paris, where they sported matching leather outfits. However, Fox later revealed in her memoir that they fought constantly during their travels. Despite the tumultuous nature of their relationship, Julia has since come out as a lesbian, sharing the news on TikTok earlier this year.
As of now, Kanye has not responded to Julia’s comments about their past relationship. It remains to be seen if he will address the situation or provide his perspective on the matter.
