Sleep loss also affects how the brain evaluates food, with reward-related areas becoming more reactive to tempting food cues. This can lead to stronger cravings for high-calorie foods and a decreased ability to resist them, even when not actually hungry.

Rather than turning to crash diets or caffeine, focusing on getting adequate, high-quality sleep is the most effective way to support your health.
