“THE PENDULUM OF JUSTICE SWINGS!”
In a plot twist straight out of a political thriller, the US Department of Justice has thrown former FBI Director James Comey into the spotlight of controversy, indicting him on Thursday. Critics have long portrayed Comey as a polarizing figure, and now, he’s facing accusations of making false statements and obstructing justice.
Comey has been accused of misleading Congress and the FISA Court during the Russiagate scandal, a narrative he reportedly knew was fabricated back in 2016.
The moment was significant: the indictment of James Comey.
In a classic show of political bravado, former President Donald Trump promptly weighed in, declaring,
“JUSTICE IN AMERICA! One of the worst individuals this Country has been plagued with is James Comey, the former Corrupt Head of the FBI. Today he has been indicted by a Grand Jury on two felony counts for a series of illegal actions. His damaging influence on our Nation has persisted for far too long, and now, he is about to face accountability for his actions against our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

The narrative suggested that Comey, along with his cohort, had signed and submitted a FISA warrant application to surveil President Trump and his associates, fully aware that the justification was flawed.
With many documents classified by the DOJ and FBI, Comey sought an open congressional testimony to shield himself from discussing these alleged crimes.
Upon signing the FISA warrant request aimed at surveilling Carter Page and Trump, it is alleged that Comey misled the court, stating, “the FBI is unaware of any derogatory information pertaining to Source #1 [Steele].”

Further investigation by Judicial Watch indicates that hearings regarding the questionable FISA warrant applications spearheaded by the Obama-era FBI and DOJ had never taken place.
It is perhaps unsurprising that Trump labeled Comey the “WORST FBI Director in history” back in 2018, given these developments.
