In her new book titled “107 Days,” former Vice President Kamala Harris disclosed that her preparation for the debates against Donald Trump during the 2024 election involved strategies for managing a few outrageous hypothetical attacks pertaining to abortion and Viagra.

With the assistance of a dedicated team of advisers, Harris, who likened one of them to a “wartime consigliere,” ventured to her alma mater, Howard University, for her debate drills against Trump. She had initially trained to face JD Vance in a vice presidential debate prior to President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race in July 2024.

Her preparation included extensive familiarization with the issues at hand, but it also required her to envision the personal accusations Trump might launch her way. “One adviser warned, ‘He may ask you if you’ve ever had an abortion,’” Harris recounted as she formulated her responses.

She outlined her prepared response: “If he does, say, ‘That’s none of your business and not relevant to this discussion,’” Harris noted.

Moreover, she mentioned a humorous suggestion in the debate prep meeting where another participant joked that if Trump got too personal, she should counter with, “Have you ever paid for an abortion?”

The topic of abortion did arise during the debate, but it ultimately did not lead to personal jabs involving hypothetical scenarios around Viagra or abortion.

She went on to reflect, “In the end, he chose not to address those kinds of questions, probably aware that it would stir anger among many women across the nation,” Harris remarked.

Harris also mentioned that her team prepared detailed ‘debate cards’ covering every potential topic, which she memorized and then marked through with a big ‘X’ once she felt confident.

Harris asserted, “I am not a trained seal; memorizing lines is not my style. It’s critical for me to grasp the reasoning and structure behind each argument, so I can articulate it clearly and defend it convincingly.”

Her book, “107 Days,” was released on Tuesday and encapsulates her experiences on the campaign trail over the 107 days following Biden’s exit from the race due to growing concerns over his mental fitness.

Ultimately, Harris struggled to garner the necessary support to overcome Trump, losing all seven swing states on November 4, 2024.
