Kate Gosselin Reveals Surgery After ‘Life-Altering’ Leg Injury

Kate Gosselin has opened up about the unfortunate incident that landed her in the hospital.

In a TikTok video shared by a friend on September 30, from her hospital bed, Gosselin, age 50, revealed that her injury was caused by one of her dogs.

“Meika, my puppy, collided with me at full speed, resulting in a tibial plateau fracture that required surgery with plates and pins in my leg,” she explained, describing the nature of her knee injury.

This revelation followed an earlier TikTok post in which Gosselin shared a cryptic image of her arm with an IV in place. Initially, she left her followers in the dark regarding her hospitalization, simply requesting, “Please pray for me tonight and tomorrow. I will be fine, but I’m scared and would appreciate your prayers! Thanks, guys.”

The initial video, shot in a dimly lit room, also displayed Gosselin, who is a proud owner of two dogs, Nanuq and Meika, with a pulse oximeter attached to her finger.

In a follow-up update, Gosselin shared that a cold therapy system, jokingly referred to as an “ice machine,” has been a source of comfort during her recovery. She also mentioned that her doctor warned her that the implications of her injury could be “life-altering.”

“I have an ice machine, and I absolutely adore it,” Gosselin quipped to her followers in the video. “I’d say my insurance picked it up, but let’s be real, I’m probably the one who bought it. They’re sending me home with this fabulous ice contraption.”

This week has been a whirlwind for Gosselin, especially following her surgery on Tuesday, which she described as one of the “top three most painful” experiences of her life, necessitating the administration of “five pain medications.”

Despite the comfort of her “ice machine,” Gosselin has been quite candid about her ongoing pain, stating, “My leg is really hurting. It’s a discomfort that cannot be overlooked,” she confided to her audience.

During the update, a viewer inquired whether Gosselin’s “boyfriend” was present at her bedside, a question she cleverly sidestepped.

Interestingly, Gosselin’s week has been anything but dull, especially with the presence of her rumored romantic interest, Steve Neild, who happened to make a cameo during her TikTok livestream. Just a day before she put out her call for prayers, Neild was spotted delivering a coffee to the recovering star, prompting Gosselin to cheerfully greet him, “Hello to the boyfriend,” while playfully obscuring his face from the camera.

His appearance follows Gosselin’s revelation on September 23 via TikTok that she has been in a relationship for about 14 to 15 months. “Finally, yes… I [have been] dating someone for over a year, and I couldn’t be happier. He’s a longtime acquaintance, and I’m incredibly content,” she shared. While she kept his identity under wraps at the time, it has been reported by Page Six that her significant other is Neild, her former bodyguard, further fueling swirling rumors of their romance.
