The Princess of Wales Pays Tribute to French Fashion for President Macron’s State Visit
The Princess of Wales, known for her “diplomatic dressing,” once again made a statement with her fashion choice during President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to the UK. Kate Middleton arrived at RAF Northolt wearing a blush-pink Bar jacket and tulle skirt by Dior, designed by former creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. The outfit was complemented with a matching hat by British milliner Jess Collett and accessorized with the late Queen Elizabeth II’s pearl choker and pearl drop earrings.
This choice of Dior is significant as the Princess has never publicly worn the brand before, a favorite of both Princess Diana and the Duchess of Sussex. While Kate has worn Chanel on several occasions in the past, her selection of a French luxury label for this occasion is noteworthy.
Accompanied by Prince William, the Princess will join President Macron and his wife Brigitte at Windsor Castle, where they will be received by the King and Queen. Will Kate continue to showcase French designers at tonight’s state banquet? It wouldn’t be surprising if she does.
