With more room in her personal life, Katie Holmes has redirected her attention to her professional endeavors. Recently, she has immersed herself in theater, receiving accolades for her roles in various productions. These include The Wanderers off-Broadway in 2023, the 2024 Broadway revival of Our Town, and a notable three-month stint in Hedda Gabler at San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre, which concluded in March.
“I’m adamant about having a life and not letting this industry dictate decisions as simple as what I wear or as complicated as what I do,” Katie said in a 2024 interview with Town & Country. Despite stepping back from the limelight, she continues to influence fashion enthusiasts. “You don’t want to be afraid of anything, right?” she added.
Taking bold steps in her career, she has recently written, directed, and starred in Happy Hours, a film trilogy that explores the reconnection of former young lovers in adulthood. This project reunites her with Joshua Jackson, her former Dawson’s Creek co-star and onetime boyfriend, 47, nearly thirty years after they both rose to fame on the coming-of-age series.
“Working with Josh after so many years is a testament to friendship,” she expressed on Instagram. Joshua Jackson also reflected on their lasting bond, describing Katie as a “lifelong friend” in a March 10 interview on Today. “For us to be able to go back and do this”—referring to their shooting of the first film last summer—”was kind of magical… To still have chemistry with somebody after all of those years….”
