Kenny Omega Takes Jab at CM Punk After Return to NJPW
Kenny Omega, the AEW star, recently made his return to NJPW and wasted no time in taking a shot at WWE Superstar CM Punk. Reports suggest that CM Punk was involved in multiple backstage altercations during his time in AEW, with one incident involving a brawl with Jack Perry at All In 2023. According to sources, Jack Perry disregarded CM Punk’s advice about using real glass and even taunted him during a match, leading to a heated backstage confrontation where CM Punk allegedly choked him.
Similarly, Kenny Omega found himself in a similar situation backstage with Gabe Kidd following his return to NJPW at Power Struggle. Omega, who had been sidelined due to diverticulitis since December 2023, returned to cut a promo stating his desire to face a young star at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5, 2025. However, he was confronted and pushed by the NJPW Strong Openweight Champion backstage.
In an interview with Tokyo Sports, Kenny Omega revealed that the altercation with Gabe Kidd reminded him of a past incident and hinted at CM Punk without mentioning his name.
